Basic Info

Hello everyone. I went to my school today to get my schedule set up. Most of the good classes were taken (the electives) so I didn't have much say. I'm in Phsycology, Intro to Cinema, Journalism, Buissness Studies, English, Maths (Algebra I but only for a while), French III, Chemistry, Phys Ed., World History II and more stuff that I can't remember but I'll know by Monday because that's when I start.
My uniform is okay. White/Navy polo shirt, white/light blue button up, low rise kaki long pants, long kaki skirt (to floor), medium kaki skirt (middle of shin) and a navy, v-neck jumper all embroidered with our logo.
The school is really nice. Most of my classes have about 12 people in them. There's a pool, tennis courts on the roof, and the library, middle/primary school, cafeteria, reception are all in different buildings.
It's hotter than I'd ever imagine here and it's hard to see the skyline, not because of smog but because of sand and dust.
During Ramadan (I think that's what it's called) you can get a fine and be put in jail if you're caught eating during day light. They take it really seriously, you can't even chew gum. If they really want to prove their devotion to god, I'd like to see them try living without their mobiles for a month. I also get that holiday off school. I've met some friends around my neighbourhood and kids of other pilots.
I had two tests in the school today. Reading and maths. Stupid Quebec teaches integrated math, much different than the USA so I have to do USA grade 9 math this year (Algebra one) and then next year I have to to the grade 10 math (geometry and Algebra two). In quebec, instead of teaching it like that, they teach half Geometry and half algebra, so i only know half of what they'll be teaching at my new school.
