RAIN RAIN RAIN

It's rained so much here over night. Our street is completely flooded and the rain isn't stopping! It's pretty cool so I'll post some pictures later in the day but you'll see them both at the same time. My dad is flying to Kkuala Lumpur where there's a typhoon going on and thousands of people have been killed so .... yeah.

Hello everyone. I need your help! I have to do a 20 minute long powerpoint thing on anything I want and I need ideas! I thought about doing it on my life in Canada and that sort of thing, because it's easy and I know it well...haha, so if you could, please send me pictures of the school and you guys and things like that or give me topic ideas...either or would be great! Souking

Yesterday, I went to two souks with my friend Sudie, her mom and sydney. It was really interesting. They have everything you could possible imagine. We were at one stall and were buying a few things and the guy kept trying to get us to buy more and it was hilarious! This was part of the conversation.

Vendor (V): Something for papa?

Sudie's Mom (SM): Umm, not today thanks.

V: How about....NATURAL Viagra?

SM: Wow...no thanks, he doesn't need that!

It was so funny. Sudie turned bright red and ran away covering her ears! If you guys have any ideas of what you want for Christmas gifts, please tell me so I can get them sooner than later. Sudie got a Gucci purse for a little over 30 dollars. We're still not sure if it's a knock off or not, but it looks pretty authentic, so it was probably stolen or traded on the black market thing.

Back to school on Sunday....not really looking forward to it but oh well, what can you do? I can't wait to come home for winter break! I'm already excited even though it's two months away! I'll leave you with some more pictures of my partially arabian adventures.

Eid

Okay, so Eid has begun and I am so tired. I'm so glad there's a break. PSAT's are OVER! I'm glad about that too. I'm glad the picture turned out well and I hope everyone over there is having a good time. I'm sick right now, the change of temperature from inside to outside definately takes a toll and I'm almost always stuffed up. I miss you guys way more than you can imagine! Do you guys know if I can post video on this?

Long Time

Sorry it's been so long everyone, Eid is this week (only three days of school and then 12 off) so I'll be able to post. I'm not sure exactly where we're going but my dad said he's going to take me somewhere on one of his flights. I was at the beach yesterday and it was really nice. I have the PSAT's on Wednesday which are really long exam things. I've posted a picture of me, but I'm not sure if it turned out or not because it has a little red x in the corner from where I can see it. I'll see you guys soon!

Pictures

I'm really really sorry guys but I can't seem to post pictures, every time I try it says there's some sort of Network Communication Error, so I think it might have to do with living here. A whole bunch of sites are banned like MySpace and Piczo and Skype and things like that. If each of you send me an email, not a comment, then that might be more efficient and more...personal? I don't know, just looking for new ways to keep everyone informed.

Different Things

I just thought I'd post a short little list of some things that are different here.

1. The egg yolks are orange
2. Everything expires about three days after you buy it
3. There is no rain
4. Sometimes it gets so humid you'll sweat and it won't evaporate and you'll just melt
5. The average low is about 40
6. We have 50 minute long written tests in Gym...or sorry, P.E
7. Classes are an hour and a half long
8. You have all your big tests in the same week
9. There are always less than 20 people in all my classes
10. The driving is insane and you have to keep a map of where your house is handy to give to friends, you can't just give directions
11. People don't live in houses here, they live in palaces!
12. Every second week you have a day off
13. During Ramadan, there are really strict rules about eating lunch
14. WAY MORE TOO!
